This will be the year of Small Things…

and I’ll start today, with a manageable goal:
eight glasses of water and only one glass of wine

and tomorrow, I’ll set myself another target:
sort out glass and paper for kerbside collection

and the next day, I’ll focus on something else:
call Mum and Dad (allowing for time difference)

and the year will pass with each little kindness:
check in with Mrs S. next door about her shopping

and I won’t mind that these are only Small Things,
or that Small Things might be all I can give today,

for Small Things aren’t so very small in the giving.
