Choices

There are two sides to every story
Stop, think, don’t judge
Closed doors hold a million secrets
They are sealed too tight, won’t budge

The grass is always greener they say
Is it? Was it? Will it be?
Cut it down, it only grows stronger
It is wild, unflinching, free

Time to turn over a new leaf
To flip the coin once again
Heads or tails are the options
Sit back, let chance take the blame

Turn a blind eye, not our problem
Keep schtum, hide away, didn’t hear
Ignore the obvious issues
The truth is too much you fear

The guilt and pressure are rising
Choices, decisions unclear
To be or not is the question
The cost of the truth much too dear

The clock has too many faces
That falter and change with the wind
The cracks in the mirror are showing
Please forgive them for they have sinned

The crystal ball appears to be broken
The stars are no longer aligned
The future cannot be predicted
It belongs to the whole of mankind
