Rainbow Of Diversity

Here is the third Rainbow Poem in our series from Birmingham son Ian Henery. Thank you for your sterling support of The Rainbow Poems, Ian! Lucy

PS: If anyone would like to donate a high resolution photo of the superb double rainbow seen over Birmingham recently, I would love to hear from you. Please get in touch. Thank you!

Rainbows Of Diversity (Villanelle)

The greater the storm, greater the rainbow
Symbol of diversity, free to choose
All the colours, not lost in the shadow.

Bridge of connection, a rainbow bestows
Inclusivity beyond reds and blues:
The greater the storm, greater the rainbow.

Spanning the horizon, sunshine not woe,
Storms must be faced before we have the views
All the colours, not lost in the shadow.

The spectrum colours set the sky aglow:
Universal truth, magic in its hues
The greater the storm, greater the rainbow.

Under the rainbow-bridge there’s calm below
Bathed by the spectrum, happiness ensues
All the colours, not lost in the shadow.

At the end of the tempest rainbows grow,
And sunbeams dance upon the spectrum’s cues.
The greater the storm, greater the rainbow
All the colours, not lost in the shadow.
