Where Am I?
Stay at home.
Watch TV.
Write emails.
Read the news.
Phone friends.
Sort things.
Discover books.
Watch TV.
Eat more.
Drink more.
Watch TV.
Discard things.
Scan the photos.
I can’t relive these like-a-ghost images.
You’re lying on sandy, sun-lit beaches,
Climbing rocky hillsides or
Smelling red roses blooming.
Delighting in orange trees blossoming.
Remember her passing and
Crying the memories.
Investigate her diaries.
Not the shopping,
Or the meals you ate.
None of the letters you wrote,
Or the places you’ve been.
Where am I?
Devise her diaries.
Revise the words.
Reinterpret our life.
Redeem yourself.
Recreate the past.
We lived those stories.
Now silence haunts.
The rooms: empty.
I’m left alone.
It’s just
me.
